Strategic Alliances for Economic Diversification

publicado: 10/02/2026

Alliances play a key role in expanding the reach and impact of our sustainable development initiatives. In 2024, Prodeco consolidated a partnership with the Postobón Foundation where six community-based farmer associations plant mango trees in their land and supply the fruit to produce juice made by the renowned beverage company Postobón. This initiative aims to promote sustainable livelihoods for more than 140 families in La Jagua de Ibirico, El Paso, and Becerril. In 2025, 26 associations from the CEMPRENDE program joined this initiative through the signing of 26 planting contracts, expanding the benefits to more local families.

The direct commercialization model not only ensures fair and sustainable market access but also promotes agricultural modernization, continuous technical support, and improved production practices—strengthening both the local economy and community confidence in their entrepreneurial capacities.

The project included the delivery of 11,100 plants between 2023 and 2025. In the first purchase of mango carried out in May by five local associations (Apestosa, Asojaguaib, Asobempre, Asopropaso, Asopraps) 4,750 kilograms of mango were sold.

Beyond individual partnerships, high-impact productive projects are increasingly attracting real investment through the alliance-driven model promoted by CEMPRENDE. Organizations that once lacked access to financing and strategic networks are now positioned as productive actors capable of managing public and private resources to scale their initiatives. Through partnerships with institutions such as SENA, ADR (Rural Development Agency), AUNAP (National Authority for Aquaculture and Fisheries), Postobón, Telefónica Movistar, ANDI (National Business Association of Colombia), Natura, and the Government of Cesar, beneficiary associations have been preselected to receive more than US $450,000 in technical and productive strengthening. Additionally, associations such as ASOPRAPS have secured strategic contracts, including a US $200,000 agreement with the Renewal Fund to operate development projects in the territory.

Through alliances like this, Prodeco reaffirms its commitment to economic diversification, the empowerment of rural communities, and the construction of resilient and sustainable territories in the Cesar region.
