Institutional Strengthening for More Effective and Participatory Local Governance
In 2024, Prodeco worked to reinforce both institutional and community capacities in the municipalities where it operates, driving processes that encourage more efficient public management, better-organized communities, and healthier living conditions. Through training programs aimed at public officials, social leaders, and the general population, actions were developed to enhance citizen service, expand access to institutional offerings, and promote healthier lifestyles. These efforts reflect the company’s dedication to supporting social cohesion and building trust-based relationships that foster more resilient and participatory territories.
Institutional Strengthening: Training was provided in the government’s online platform for managing public procurement processes, as well as in citizen service, reaching 278 public officials: 131 in Becerril, 32 in El Paso, and 115 in La Jagua de Ibirico, thereby contributing to stronger public management.
Community Strengthening “Community Leadership in Action”: A total of 140 leaders from Community Action Boards were trained in leadership and in the use of tools to access institutional programs, expanding their management and representation capacities.
Health and Well-being “Prevention is Living”: Twenty-nine health promotion and prevention workshops were conducted in Becerril and La Jagua de Ibirico, impacting 852 people, including women heads of households, youth, older adults, social leaders, and members of the LGBTIQ+ community.
As expressed by Yenni Martínez, community leader of the Santa Fe village in Becerril:
“The training we received gave us real tools to manage projects and better understand how to access government programs. Thanks to Grupo Prodeco, today I can better guide my community and lead the processes we need with greater confidence.”
Through these actions, Grupo Prodeco continues to honor its commitment to strengthening the social fabric, building trust-based relationships, and supporting processes that contribute to more effective and participatory local governance.
