Let’s revive the History of Ciénaga in short films!

08|06|2016

After one year in the role of reporters in the community, 33 students from Ciénaga go back to the streets to present four short films that show, in High Definition, the diverse histories of the municipality, acted and produced by them.

The educational institutions involved are Carlos García Mayorca, Alfredo Correa de Andreis, El Carmen and Alianza para el Progreso. All of them have been working since 2015 in this audiovisual project with the support of the Prodeco Group, a company that today is betting on the reconstruction of the historic memory of Ciénaga, from the eyes if the young ones.

The locations used include the Centennial Square, the promenade, the Costa Verde beaches, the train station at Sevilla and some if the main streets of the municipality. Some of the stories tell why the people from Ciénaga are called culozungos, and even old time romances and how was Ciénaga in its early period. The students, after having received theoretical and practical lessons, visited these locations and produced these short stories, which will be presented next Thursday, the 9th of June at the square, next to the Office of the mayor of Ciénaga.

The Prodeco Group’s Reporters Network, is a communications’ group that has the support of the Office of the Mayor of Ciénaga as well as of entities related to the Culture Ministry. The videos can be watched as from 6:00 p.m. free of charge.
