Calenturitas Mine

Our coal is an energy source

Calenturitas is an open-pit mine that produces low-sulphur, high-energy thermal coal. In the department of Cesar, in the north of Colombia, it lies between the municipalities El Paso, La Jagua de Ibirico and Becerril.

Thanks to its coal-handling infrastructure, Calenturitas can crush between 15 and 17 million tonnes of coal, loading up to 23 million tonnes onto trains each year.
