Free Health Brigade in Ciénaga, Magdalena

In the municipality of Ciénaga Magdalena, Prodeco organized a health brigade with the participation of 35 doctors and specialists who provided medical services free of charge to approximately 800 persons in extreme poverty and vulnerability.

More than 800 persons in extreme poverty and vulnerability benefitted from the Health Brigade organized by Grupo Prodeco, in alliance with the Department for Social Prosperity, the Wings for People Foundation, the Mayor’s Office of Ciénaga, Magdalena, and the National Police.

All these institutions joined efforts to bring to the community, where Prodeco’s port operation is located, specialized medical attention in different healthcare areas, such as pediatrics, odontology, gynecology, otorhinolaryngology, dermatology, among others.  This was the first of two brigades that will take place in this municipality of Magdalena. The second brigade will take place in August this year and will include the same type of medical attention and minor surgical procedures.

Several employees of Grupo Prodeco participated as volunteers in this initiative, contributing to the logistics of this brigade that is now in its fourth consecutive year with the participation of important allies serving the populations of the area of influence of Grupo Prodeco, first in Cesar, and now in Magdalena.
